Family & Consumer Science is the new name for what used to be "Home Economics". The name changed to include all things taught throughout the program.
The definition of Family & Consumer Science is:
The science and art of career planning, job skills, resource management, time management, nutrition, food preparation, menu planning, parenting, substance abuse, child care and development, healthy living, clothing and textiles, consumer education, decision making, problem solving, human relationships, family development, and anything else that touches the home and heart.
This is my sixth year teaching in the district. I'm looking forward to working with high school students for the first time. I have a Bachelor's Degree from Colorado State University in Counseling/Human Development and a Master's Degree from the University of Central Missouri in teaching.
I have an eight year old daughter named Hannah and a twelve year old Weimaraner named Wylee. Both are ridiculously spoiled.
I love teaching life skills to students and I look forward to a great year!
